Popular Q&A

How do I format my 640GB Buffalo drivestation to work on my PS3?

It is formatted as NTFS at the moment and I don't know how to get it to work on my PS3. Any help? It works on the computer and manages files fine but wont show up on my ps3.Why and how?

The PlayStation 3 does not recognize the NTFS file format. You would need to format the drive as FAT32. You can use a program such as the GParted Live CD to partition the drive as FAT32. Windows has the capability to format drives as FAT32, but it is limited to partitions no greater than 32GB which is why I recommended GParted. A link to GParted is provided in the Sources.
